About Phax
Dancer and performing artist Phax Ahamada, born in Madagascar, raised in Paris and based in Gothenburg since 1991, is active both in Sweden and on an international stage. With the natural ease of a true polymath, he moves fluidly between street dance, mime, physical theatre, pedagogical projects, and international collaborations.
He has appeared in productions at Angered Theater, The Göteborg Opera, and Gävle Folk Theatre, performed on major European stages, and earned great respect as a teacher and mentor. Within the world of street dance, Phax is a legend, renowned for his unique slow-motion technique, transforming his influences into deeply personal narratives.
For his distinctive artistic profile, his generous mentorship, and his continual creative evolution, Phax Ahamada is awarded the 2025 Scholarship from the Sten A Olsson Foundation for Research and Culture.
